G.L. (Gerry) Sullivan, Founder (Deceased)
Conchemco’s Founder, G.L. (Gerry) Sullivan, passed away August 29, 2006 after a
short battle with cancer. He founded Conchemco, Ltd. In July 1990, bringing over
20 years experience in the chemical business to the new company he started at his
kitchen table. Gerry left an indelible mark on Conchemco, always emphasizing character
and integrity in his relationships with customers and suppliers. These cornerstones
of the company continue to guide our business relationships.
Gerry’s career in chemicals actually began while in college when he worked part-time
for two different chemical compounding companies as a lab assistant and bookkeeper.
After college, Gerry’s first job was in Waco, Texas, as a pharmaceutical representative
for Parke-Davis & Company.
Three years later he relocated to Dallas as a sales representative with the IC&S
Division of Ashland Chemical Company. Later he was promoted to International Sales
and transferred to the corporate office in Dublin, Ohio . In 1973, he resigned this
position and moved back to Dallas.
In 1980, Gerry joined Delta Distributors (later purchased by Brenntag). While at
Delta, he held several positions, the last of which was Vice President of Corporate
Marketing and International Trading.
Gerry was a native of Arkansas and a 1966 graduate of the University of Texas at
Arlington.
